Davis and Bradley Minton
Conservationist - Agriculturalist - Wildlife Preservationist

The Minton Family, parents Keith & Betty, and sons Davis and Bradley, began a concerted effort for wetland and wildlife preservation over 30 years ago. Our several thousand acres of farmland in Dexter, located in Southeast Missouri, balances farming and caring for waterfowl and migratory birds.

The concept works in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation's own Otter Slough Wildlife Area, a 5,000 acre wetland that they own and manage. Our efforts both compliment and prosper from these joint efforts , thereby providing some of the best duck hunting opportunities on private and public land in the Mississippi Flyway.

Throughout our Southeast Missouri farming history of flooding thousands of acres of corn and rice fields, we have provided ample food and waterfowl habitat for a large population of every species of duck. Our goal has been to reclaim and elevate the colloquial description 'Swampeast Missouri', therefore a long term plan was implemented to diversify our Southeast Missouri farm even more.

At the present time, we have converted over 1,000 acres of our Southeast Missouri farmland to create a wide variety of eco-friendly habitats, including; permanent wetlands, woody wetlands, bottom timber, cypress and tupelo sloughs. This allows for a great diversified habitat of moist soil pools, semi permanent and deep water habitat that provides some of the most important wetlands habitat and opportunities in the Mississippi Flyway. Because of our efforts we provide approximately1.2 million annual 'Duck Use Days'. The Moccasin Ridge Hunt club includes thousands of acres of premium duck hunting habitat with a variety of species unparalleled in the Mississippi Flyway.  (Black Duck, Canvasback Duck, Green-winged Teal Duck, Blue-winged Teal Duck, Scaup Ringneck Duck, Wood Duck, Pintail Duck, Mallard and Gadwall)

Duck Hunting at Moccasin Ridge Hunt ClubYou will come to recognize such infamous duck hunting spots such as, Death Hole, Dead Snag, Cypress Slough, Glades Swamp, as well as others. Federal, State and private entities for so many years, have recognized us for our contributions to the development of unsurpassed waterfowl and wetland habitat. Hundreds of visitors come each year for educational seminars, hands-on-training in the development of wetlands, and to work on their college thesis to learn our methodology of wetlands restoration.

We have always been proud of our efforts to return much of our Southeast Missouri farmland to the way it was decades ago in an effort to resurrect the most appropriate name of 'Swampeast Missouri'.
